If you are looking for something to sip on this month, I suggest some French Kiwi Juice!

FKJ (Vincent Fenton) released his third album VINCENT in June, and it just keeps getting better and better each time I listen to it. As one review by Clash Magazine suggests, evidence of the French musician's soulful ability is laden with the way in which he is able to transcend the neo-soul, jazz and electronica genres.

VINCENT tackled its anticipated release with calmness and a soothing trajectory that resonates deep within the listener. The notorious saxophone in the eighth track on the album, Different Masks For Different Days, oozes the sound that we are so in awe of when listening to FKJ. The various features, which I am sure were handpicked with extreme detail, offer up tracks that are diverse yet remain true to the album. The likes of Santana, Little Dragon, (((O))), and Toro y Moi do justice with their inclusion.

From the lead-off to the closing tracks, one feels like they are on an intricate journey with the artist. A remarkable work of art; one which follows some strong predecessors in French Kiwi Juice (2017) and Just Piano (2021).

My top tracks: Way Out, Greener, Different Masks For Different Days

Album Rating: 8/10
